It's 2017

New year, new me, new...blog.

Oh yes. New blog. I've been strongly considering starting a blog for a while now and after a few attempts to do just that over the last couple of years, I've decided to really buckle down and get (semi) serious about it. I've always loved reading blogs and following them on other forms of social media, so here is my hand at it.

Now that it's a new year, I think that it's only natural to consider the things that I want to do or try within the next twelve months. Admittedly, the list isn't very long, but it's still something that I'd like to share. Behold, the 'Let's-Not-Really-Call-Them-Resolutions-Because-I'll-Probably-Break-Them' resolutions.

// Stop Giving a F*ck. Self explanatory. I think I'm getting a bit better about not caring what people think now that I've gotten a bit older and now that I have a circle of close friends that support me in whatever I do. Even then, I would like to get more comfortable for doing things for myself and not caring about what other people think.

// Get More Fit. Again, rather self explanatory and I feel like this must be on everyone's resolution list. I actually put this on my list last year and got pretty good about going to the gym on a semi-regular basis, especially in the spring and summer. However, I've gotten out of the groove in recent days so I want to get back into having a regular work-out schedule, as well as develop better eating habits in 2017.

// Read More. I love reading, I really do. It's one of the things that I love the most and when I first started college, I was reading a lot. However, I've found it really difficult in recent years to sit back and unplug fully to commit to reading a new book. This year, I want to spent at least three nights a week dedicated to reading before bed to wind down, instead of constantly checking social media. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this one.

I'm keeping it short and sweet this year, hoping that it'll be easier for me to actually want to keep to them. Hopefully by this time next year, I'll be happy with where I am with the aspects in life that my resolutions affect, and I'll be able to improve even more from there. Here's to 2017!
