Today on the blog I'm doing something a little bit different. Seeing as my birthday is coming up on the 31st of January and I'm turning 24, I wanted to do something a bit personal for Sunday's blog post. That being said, 24 years is an awfully long time to, in the wise words of Kylie Jenner, realize things and today, I am sharing what those things are. Here are 24 years I have learned about life in my 24 years of existence!
1// People will leave your life and that's okay, because there will always be better people in the world.
2// You can't change how people see you or what they think of you.
2// You can't change how people see you or what they think of you.
3// Your dreams are always within reach.
4// Work hard for what you want.
5// Keep your friends as close to you as you can and let them know you appreciate them.
6// Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself.
7// Don't beat yourself up for saying 'no'.
8// Be patient because things will get better
9// Laughing really is the best medicine.
10// You're not a failure if you're not where you want to be in life.
7// Don't beat yourself up for saying 'no'.
8// Be patient because things will get better
9// Laughing really is the best medicine.
10// You're not a failure if you're not where you want to be in life.
11// Go back for seconds because you'll regret not.
12// Always be kind, no matter what.
13// It's okay to have nights where you don't wear pants and you watch Netflix.
14// Take care of yourself, you won't regret it.
15// You'll still have acne in your twenties. Sorry.
16// Every day is a new opportunity.
17// You are not weak if you ask for help.
18// It's okay to call your parents if you have no idea what to do.
19// Learning never stops, so always get more.
20// Don't be embarrassed for the music you like, the clothes you wear, or the movies you watch.
21// Lunch/coffee dates with yourself is not as bad as it seems.
22// Disney never gets old and Disneyland is always magical.
23// Take care of your skin because it'll be worth it.
24// Do the things you want to do, and don't let fear hold you back.
I'm sure that there are so many things that aren't coming to me right now, but I feel like this list is relatively conclusive to how I feel as a 24 year old. Here's to another year of realizing things!
xx Mary
