Makeup Toolbox (That Won't Break the Bank!)

As someone who loves all things beauty and makeup, I have quite the collection. Ask my roommate, she'll vouch that I have entirely too much makeup for a single person to use during a lifetime. However, just because you or someone you know really loves makeup or wants to start wearing makeup, it's totally not necessary to buy the latest setting spray, bronzer, contour, and...well, you know the drill. Today I'm putting together a toolbox of something that I personally feel like everyone needs in their makeup collection, whether you're just starting out or just wanting to save some cash. Skip Sephora and head to Target or Ulta, because this is a makeup toolbox that won't break the bank.

February Faves

It's honestly so hard to believe that February is coming into a close and soon we'll be rolling into March. I felt like I just rang in the new year last week and it's astounding that it's actually been a couple of months. Having the time fly so quickly is really bittersweet for me but with a new month comes a few mentions of some of the things that I've been loving. February favorites, let's go.

Wavy Hair, Don't Care

After having a hair fiasco about three months ago (another post for another time) I've learned to accept having shorter hair. It doesn't take very long to style (on days that I do) and I use less product, so realistically it was a win-win situation, though I do still feel pretty naked without having my longer hair. After a few months, though, I have definitely figured out a hair care routine that allows me to (semi) love my shorter hair when I actually feel like styling it.

Primer Round-Up

As someone who enjoys make-up as much as I do, I think that it may be surprising to some when they learn that I was never a primer fan. Often times, I felt like it was totally unnecessary but looking back on it now, I think that I was just using primers that didn't suit me very well. Years ago, I tried a cult favorite primer (not naming any names) that was totally underwhelming and grouped all primers into the 'might be nice but not a necessity' category when thinking about my daily make-up routine. About a year ago, I moved to Phoenix and the climate was very different than what I was used to and noticed that my foundation was starting to wear off in places it hadn't before. That being said, I tried several primers since then and needless to say, I am a primer convert now. Today I am sharing some of my favorites with you!
